Families can write and preview an obituary for free, choose one-page, bi-fold, tri-fold or booklet layouts, and get the print-ready file the same day or have printed copies mailed. Beautiful Obituary also offers plans for funeral homes.

Beautiful Obituary is for the days after someone dies, when a family has to write an obituary and print a program and has little time or energy for either. You tell us about the person. We write the obituary from what you say, set it into a design with their photograph, and show you the result. Then you decide whether to download the file, have copies printed, or only keep the words.

What is Beautiful Obituary?

Beautiful Obituary is an online service that helps families write an obituary and turn it into a funeral or memorial program. You answer questions about the person, we draft the obituary from your answers, and you choose a design, add photographs and see the finished program before you pay for anything.

Does Beautiful Obituary write obituaries for families?

Yes. The written obituary is drafted from what you tell us using an AI writing assistant. It does not invent memories or facts, and you can edit any line or write the whole thing yourself. Writing, designing and previewing are free, with no account.

What funeral programs can I make?

Four sizes: a 1-Page program, a Bi-Fold, a Tri-Fold and an 8-Page Booklet, in more than a hundred designs. You can also add an online memorial page with a photo gallery and guest book.

Can I order printed copies?

Yes. You can order 25 to 250 printed copies, delivered by mail in the United States. Starting prices at 25 copies with standard delivery are $79 for a 1-Page, $99 for a Bi-Fold, $109 for a Tri-Fold and $139 for an 8-Page Booklet, and the price includes the design file.

What is free, and what costs money?

Writing the obituary, choosing a design, previewing the program, copying the obituary and emailing it to yourself are free and need no account. The print-ready file costs $19 for a 1-Page, $29 for a Bi-Fold or Tri-Fold and $39 for an 8-Page Booklet. Printed copies cost more, and include the file. Prices are plus applicable sales tax.

How quickly can I get the file or the printed copies?

We deliver the print-ready file the same day: it is yours the moment you pay, so you can print it that day. If you choose printed copies instead, they are mailed. Printing takes about two business days, then standard delivery takes 1 to 5 business days or two-day delivery takes 2. Mailed times are estimates, not guarantees, so if the service is close, download the file and print it locally.

How is it different from Canva or a Word template?

A template gives you a blank design and leaves you to write the words and do the layout. Here the obituary is written from your answers and set into the design for you, and the file is prepared for printing at 300 DPI with bleed and crop marks.
